My name is Jean. The children call me "Miss Jean." I am 51 years old and have been married to John for 25 years. I have 2 children, a daughter who is 23 years old (and the creator of this web site!) and a son who is 19 years old. My hobbies include going to Disney World with my kids and my mom, camping with the whole family and attending Formula One races with my husband. My biggest passion (outside of children!), is attending Orioles' games. My daughter and I are big fans. (I also like the Redskins and the Capitals.) I have been doing day care for 23 years and I have every intention to continue doing day care for many more years. My day care is located in the basement of my home. Parents are asked to enter the day care by way of the back door. During bad weather, the front door is used for entry. The day care is one large room that has a full kitchen in one corner. There is also a bathroom just for day care. The kitchen serves as a dual purpose room. The children eat their meals there as well as having our "circle time" there. This makes a wonderful place for painting and playdoh as well as other messy activities. We do sand and water activities as well. I am not a baby sitter, but a licensed day care provider. The children do not play and watch tv all day. That being said, children learn by playing. The toys that the children play with are age appropriate and educational. There is a reading, block, pretend play and computer area for the children. We do have structured learning time along with our play time.
